India has a future….it is upto our youth to invent it. We need to empower our youth to build their own futures and help build the futures of others
We are today faced with question on how to:
- channelize youth energy into productive arenas without losing the essence of youth enthusiasm and dynamism?
- How do we sensitively and sustainably provide a framework and platform for youth to unleash their potential for the benefit of society?
WAYE brings youth together through fun or social initiative whichever they prefer.
Rationale
Youth: Investing in Our Tomorrow
- Dearth of dynamic national forums for youth
- Minimal international forums for youth
- Creating a platform for youth to have fun
- Creating a platform for youth to build their communities
- Building the leaders for tomorrow
WAYE
WAYE is an initiative undertaken by today’s youth under the aegis of The Art of Living Foundation working towards empowering youth for enabling their participation and leadership in addressing the challenges facing their communities and societies at large.
The current investment by today’s youth are :
This initiative in WAYE is a departure from the traditional formal education system of lecturing youth. the focus is first empower themselves and give a definitive platform to Make A Difference (MAD) to their own life and then to society at large.
To give them a vision to their life and make them socially responsible, a program called YES!+ has been envisioned by H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji and the platform provided to them is WAYE:
Target Group
Global Youth
Impact
I. 36000 Youth per annum in India
II. 5000 Slum Youth in Mumbai City, subsequently other slums
III. 10,000 trained, empowered, highly motivated youth who will volunteer with top 100 NGOs in each country to help make the world a better place.
IV. Students impacted by WAYE will become YLTP (Youth Training Leadership Program) volunteers and will work in the villages of UP reaching out to over 25000 village youth
Rationalisation IA. 1 Teacher @ 50 Youth per month = 600 Youth Per Year. 30 Teachers = 18000 Youth
IB. 1 Teacher @ 100 Youth per Month = 1200 students per year 30 Teachers x 1200 students = 36000 students
Of these 36000 Youth there will be at least 50-100 who will emerge who will lead NGOs in the future that will impact over 1 million citizens within 3 years
